TiltBoom privacy policy

This page describes the data handled by the TiltBoom Android app, published by Reunidev.

At a glance

  • No account, advertising or in-app purchases in the game.
  • The progress, characters, photos and voice lines you keep are stored on your device.
  • You choose which files to import and which content to share.
  • Depending on your settings, Android may back up the app's data or transfer it to another device.

Data stored on the device

TiltBoom saves game progress, results and settings in its storage on the device. Saved characters include their name, appearance, game settings and any media you have added to them. This data lets you return to your progress and characters.

Photos and microphone

Adding a photo is optional. TiltBoom uses the Android picker and reads the file you choose. It prepares a copy to display the photo on the character; the original photo is not changed.

The microphone records your characters' voice lines when you start a recording in the workshop. Android asks for permission to use the microphone. You can listen to the take and choose to keep it; saving the character stores the voice lines you accepted. Recording stops when the app moves to the background. You can play without adding a photo or allowing microphone access.

Imported and shared files

A character kit is a ZIP file. It contains the character's name, settings and associated photos or voice lines. Importing a kit saves a copy of that character in TiltBoom. A shared kit can therefore contain a personal photo and voice.

You can also prepare a PNG image of your result. It can show the character and its photo, together with the game result. The image contains no sound. Challenge codes contain neither photos nor voice lines.

Sharing opens the Android chooser: you select the receiving app. The file then follows that app's rules and those of the service or recipient you choose. TiltBoom does not protect ZIP or PNG files with a password.

Backup and changing devices

Depending on your device and settings, Android may include progress, characters, their photos and their voices in a backup or a transfer to another device. These operations are handled by the system and your backup service; they are not a transfer to Reunidev by the game.

Advertising, analytics and crash reports

TiltBoom contains no advertising, in-app purchases or subscriptions. No analytics or automatic crash-reporting service is enabled in the game. TiltBoom does not automatically send your games, photos or recordings to Reunidev.

Retention and deletion

Saved data remains in the app's storage until it is replaced or deleted. To remove a photo or a voice line from a character, use the removal or erase controls in the workshop, then “Enregistrer et jouer” (save and play). A copy may remain in another character that uses the same media.

Clearing TiltBoom's data in Android settings or uninstalling the app clears its local storage. This does not delete files already shared, your original photos or backups managed by your system. Those copies are managed separately where they are stored or through the relevant service.

Temporary copies are used to import and share files. The game cleans up older share files when preparing new shares.
